Makalu Barun


Makalu Barun is a hidden gem in the heart of Great Himalaya Network lies between Makalu and Barun region traverse to Everest which includes some of the highest and most challanging Himalayan Passes of Sherpani Col (6150m), West Col (6143m) and Amphu Labtsa Pass (5800m). Mt Makalu (8463m), a fifth highets mountain and also considered as one of the toughest peak to summit, lies dramatically between famous Everest and Kanchenjunga massifs. 

Undoubtedly Makalu is one of the most extreme trekking trial in Nepal which leads through deepest valley of the world to Makalu Base Camp. You will have a great chance to witness one of the most spectacular Himalayan Range including three of the world's highest mountains,Makalu, Kanchenjunga and Everest. 

The trial follows some of the most extreme glacier valleys, Authentic mountain vistas, culture and bio diversity of Makalu Barun and Sagarmatha National Park. The rugged summits of Makalu, with 8,463 m (27,766 ft) the fifth highest mountain of the world, Chamalang (7,319 m (24,012 ft)), Baruntse (7,129 m (23,389 ft)) and Mera (6,654 m (21,831 ft)) are included in the region. 

The Makalu Barun National Park exhibits a high diversity of forest types that are characteristic for the Eastern Himalayas, ranging from near-tropical dipterocarp monsoon forest on 400 m (1,300 ft) altitude to sub alpine conifer stands on 4,000 m (13,000 ft) altitude. Forest aspects vary depending on seasonal moisture availability, temperature and snow cover at different elevations and slopes. Forests below 2,000 m (6,600 ft) are strongly affected by subsistence agriculture, so that only some ecologically significant stands remain there. Above 2,000 m (6,600 ft) forests are usually extensive since the cool, humid climate suppresses agricultural activity.
